Downloads declare support for campaign
THE logo for The Journal’s Think North East First campaign is now available to download on our website.
Simply by logging on to The Journal’s site it is possible to get a copy of the logo (right) to print off and display with pride in your business or home. One business already planning to display the logo is the Centurion bar in Newcastle Central Station.
Director Richard Sanderson said: "We run a deli outside the bar on the station. Recently, one of the big nationals have set up right next to us and we are keen to harness The Journal’s campaign to help us.
"We buy all our coffee locally and all the deli goods are either homemade or bought locally.
"Our idea is to display The Journal’s Think North East First banner outside to appeal to people to support local business over some multi-national that can just muscle its way in."
Mr Sanderson, who hopes to have the banner up within the next week, said: "I’m passionate about the Think North East campaign.
"We are incredibly supportive of it because, like I said, we source a lot of our produce locally and support micro breweries in the region as well.
"Hopefully, by using the logo we can encourage more people to support the campaign.
Matt McKenzie, NCJ Media’s head of multimedia, said: "We want businesses to wear the Think North East First badge with pride and that’s why we’ve made the logo available to download from our website.
"Backing the campaign should be something that businesses are proud to be doing and the logo is a bold statement about the philosophy of your business."
