The choice is yours in our Northumberland

Linhope Spout

NORTHUMBERLAND has everything to offer from stunning wildlife, unusual bookshops, galleries, historic castles through to long stretches of sandy beaches. It is all easily reachable by bike, bus, train or car.

Northumberland Tourism has just launched a Discovering Northumberland Days Out and Attractions guide a free foldout leaflet and map available at Tourist Information Centres and attractions across the county. It details some of our best day-long experiences.

If you like wildlife, head out to the Farne Islands by boat from Seahouses to see Seals, Guillemots and Puffins.

There are a whole lot of National Trust and English Heritage properties ready for you and your family to visit. These include historic homes like Cragside and Belsay Hall or special places of unique interest like Lindisfarne Priory.

If you like nothing better than curling up with a good book, try second-hand book shop Barter Books in Alnwick, housed in the towns old railway station. Our market towns, places like Berwick, Hexham, Rothbury and Morpeth, offer a chance to explore, shop and sample local produce.

Were also known for outdoor activities. Whether it is walking, running, cycling or mountain biking, you wont be short of things to do when you come to visit Northumberland.
