Lucky Spot canters back

Stella McCartneys crystal horse Lucky Spot one of English Heritages most memorable and visually appealing exhibits returns to Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens in Northumberland.

Belsay has something to delight and inspire everyone. Step back in time with a medieval castle, a romantic Regency mansion and 30 acres of spectacular Grade I gardens with thousands of exotic species. Pack a picnic or enjoy an indulgent cake in the Victorian Tea Room.

An island escape

Ever felt the need to get away from it all? A place of pilgrimage for 1,300 years, Lindisfarne Priory on Holy Island remains a perfect island escape for peace and tranquillity. Stroll around the atmospheric ruins of this important centre of early Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England and hear about the life of St Cuthbert, the most celebrated of the priorys holy men who lived and died on the island.

Travel back in time and go to Rome this summer

With four of the best preserved sites along Hadrians Wall, Roman history fanatics will be in their element. Be transported back to Roman times with the Time Travellers Go team at Chesters Roman Fort near Hexham every Monday to Thursday during the summer holidays.
