Bruce: Capello should consider picking Darren Bent

“I’m really pleased with the performance. By the end, everybody wanted the ball – that is what a victory does for you. It released the pressure and it brought the sparkle back to our play and hopefully we can build on this.”
The result should do wonders for the team’s confidence and, with a six-point gap between them and Hull, relegation fears can subside, at least for now.
And Bruce was also pleased with the performance of his two wingers, Steed Malbranque adding some much-needed guile to the side and Campbell a constant threat with his pace down the right.
Bruce added: “They have their critics this season and everybody knows I’ve had one or two disputes with Steed, but they were both excellent tonight.
“Fraizer is just a young boy still and he will get better the more he plays in the wide role. He’s only 21 and maybe people forget that.
“As for Steed, some of his best performances for me have come when he has played on the left.
“He hasn’t got that blistering pace he used to have, but he is a very clever footballer and he brings us some thing different when he plays like that. I was delighted with the response from him.”
