Michael Turner: We have to quickly improve

“But we have to get away from performances like Saturday.

“I don’t know about players worrying or whether anyone will move on, but we’ve got good team spirit, all the lads are behind each other and we want to put things right.

“This is the squad at the moment and we’ve got to deal with what we’ve got.

“It’s another chance for us to put it right, it’s going to be another tough game we know that and it’s down to us to put in a performance and turn the corner a little bit on the away form.

“It always does take time to bed in, you have to find partnerships all over the pitch and I’m sure the manager hasn’t yet settled on his strongest side if you like.

“But it’s just up to us players to start putting in the performances and start winning away, simple as that.

“Football’s all about the team game, and it takes a massive team effort if you want to win a game of football.

“It’s about the whole team, everyone knows that, and I think we’ve shown we’ve got the individuals at the club, we’ve got players going forward who are capable of scoring any time and we just need to get the whole team right.

“We’re frustrated, we feel collectively that we’re capable of winning those games of football away from home, and hopefully it’s just a matter of time before we get that next win away and hopefully things can spiral from there.

“Of course it’s not going to happen overnight, there’s been a lot of players brought in to the club and obviously with the new management set-up it will take time for things to be where he wants them to be that’s for sure.

“The home form has been superb, you can’t complain about that, but it’s just the inconsistency of the away form which we feel we’re capable of putting right and I’m sure we will as the season goes on.

“I’m confident that we’ll start picking points up away, and obviously if we can keep the home form up then we’ll be in a healthy position come the end.”
