Bruce starting to lose his patience

STEVE Bruce says he is prepared to replace Sunderland’s players with lesser quality ones if it means the club’s supporters are no longer “let down” as they were at the weekend.
Bruce was visibly upset at the way his team under-performed at Wigan Athletic and made it clear he will not stand for a repeat of what is fast becoming an alarming pattern away to supposedly inferior teams.
“It has to be mentality and how you change that I don’t know, but unless I get a level of performance then I ain’t happy,” he said after the game. “I would rather have less ability and a team I can look at and say they have given their all. I can’t say that about my team today.
“We are sadly lacking. I have seen it four times in four months. It rears its ugly head every few weeks so we will look at it.”
Bruce’s frustration was compounded by the enthusiastic backing his team received at a ground where they have never won a Premier League game.
“I can not hide my disappointment and I feel I have let 5,000 people down,” he said.
