Craig Gordon: We have to play better away from home

“We just did not perform as well as we can, for whatever reason.

“The manager said we only started playing in the last quarter and that’s not enough. He’s right of course. He’s not happy and neither are we.

“We did not get enough service to the front men. We put them under a bit of pressure towards the end but that’s just not enough. We came alive after scoring and could have taken something from the game but if you look at it overall we got what we deserved.

“It would have been deceptive if we had got a point but we would have taken it. You take everything in this game, every point is vital.

“Sometimes that is the sign of a good team, the ones that can get something out of a game when they haven’t really earnt it.

Liam Ridgewell’s opening goal was scored from an offside position, but Gordon was unhappy for other reasons.

“The first goal hit his thigh and went on to his hand but I don’t think the ref would have been able to see it,” the keeper said.
