The Rugby Football Union has announced that Richard Shuttleworth will become its new professional coach development manager.
Liverpool-born Shuttleworth will replace former Bath and England lock Nigel Redman, who took up a coaching role with Aviva Premiership club Worcester earlier this year.
Shuttleworth moves to the RFU from the Australian Institute of Sport, where he has worked as their skill acquisition specialist since 2007.
"I am very excited to take on this role at such an exciting time for English rugby," he said.
"I am motivated to help coaches develop, innovate and optimise new and existing tools and strategies to enhance both the learning and performance of their players, and I bring a huge passion for learning and skill acquisition to what I do."
