Newcastle United Res 4, Ashington 0

Danquah struck the top of the crossbar from 20 yards on 67 minutes after a fine run and pass from left-back Shane Ferguson, but four minutes later United found a fourth goal.

The honour of scoring it went to midfield substitute Mark Doninger, maintaining his record of scoring in every round of this season’s tournament. Jonny Godsmark found space on the right of the box for a low shot that Hayes at the near post could not hold, and Doninger forced the ball over the line.
