Kevin Nolan sings his team-mate’s praises

KEVIN Nolan has leapt to the defence of under-fire striker Marlon Harewood after he was given a torrid time by Newcastle fans during another lacklustre display.
Despite scoring on only his second appearance for the Magpies against QPR, the on-loan Aston Villa forward is finding it difficult to find any sort of form on Tyneside and was the target of supporters’ frustration against Doncaster.
But Nolan insisted the 30-year-old had the full support of his team-mates and argued it was only a matter of time before the former Nottingham Forest and West Ham striker got into the groove.
He said: “Yeah, I was quite disappointed for him. Since he’s come to the club Marlon has been injured, but he’s a big lad and a great player and we’ve seen what he’s got in training.
“He scored a vital goal for us against QPR not so long ago, so we can’t lose sight of everything that’s gone on over the last few weeks. The fans wanted Nile on and he’s a young lad who has come in, but we can’t forget the job Marlon has done for us since he’s come here.
