Ryan Taylor: We need to hit back

RYAN Taylor has warned there will be no room for egos when Newcastle United travel to Scunthorpe tonight looking for an immediate response to the setback at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
United produced one of their worst performances of the season at the City Ground to slip to their second league defeat of the season, allowing West Bromwich Albion to reclaim top spot on goal difference.
The Magpies still have a four-point cushion in the automatic promotion places, but they have failed to win any of their last three games and have scored just one goal.
Taylor admitted the players need to prove the dip in form is not turning into a damaging slump at one of the Championship’s least glamorous clubs.
He said: “It is important people do not start to turn on the team just because we have had a bad result. If I was a Newcastle United fan I think I would still be fairly happy about the start we have had. It is tough in this league.
“We are playing against a lot of teams who see us as a scalp and they raise their games. It is the biggest game of the season when Newcastle come to play.
“Scunthorpe will be a similar test. They have had a very good result against Sheffield United and the games just keep on coming in this division.
