NEWCASTLE and Sunderland fans enjoy two major new football websites for all things black and white – and red and white.

Launched by ncjMedia’s three sister titles, The Journal, The Evening Chronicle and Sunday Sun, the two websites bring together the best writing from the region’s leading newspapers.

But sunderlandbanter.co.uk and newcastlebanter.co.uk are about far more than the expert opinion and latest news from the two clubs.

The two sites feature all our match reports, blogs, comment and analysis, but it will be the input from readers and fans that will make them unique – this is your chance to reply to match reports and transfer stories.

Fans will enjoy equal footing with our sports reporters and bloggers, shaping the direction of debate – so the new websites will feature what you want to see and read.

Both newcastlebanter.co.uk and sunderlandbanter.co.uk link to the official club websites and to fans’ sites like A Love Supreme and Ready To Go.

They will also be updated on all the latest being written about the two teams from across the internet, making them your new one-stop home for all your team’s news.

Regular contributors to newcastlebanter.co.uk will be The Journal’s chief sports writer, Luke Edwards, whose ‘Luke Who’s Talking’ blog already attracts huge response from readers. Whenever Luke writes on Newcastle or Sunderland the new websites will automatically alert visitors to his latest article.

The Chronicle’s John Gibson and Lee Ryder are also featured on newcastlebanter.co.uk – as well as opinionated Newcastle fan Paul Dixon, and fellow ncjmedia Wearside reporter James Hunter can be found at Sunderlandbanter.co.uk.

But football remains a ‘funny old game’ and as well as serious comment, there’s a funnies section on both websites for caption competitions, jokes, lookalikes and fans’ anecdotes.

As the season launches, just one addition to look forward to on the sites will be the new joint blog from Journal reporters and rival fans Paul James and Paul Loraine. Called ‘Pauls Apart’, the blog will mirror the office banter – lighthearted or otherwise – from our newsroom and from offices and shop floors across the region.

We’ll be adding more and more to both websites over the coming weeks, and as more fans log on and join in, the more there will be to get stuck into.
