IT was a case of third time lucky with the weather when the Surridge Sport Alnwick and District League staged its T20 finals day.
Rain forced the cancellation of the finals on two previous dates, but this time warm sunshine greeted the players at Wooler CC.
Wooler Wizards beat Mitford Marauders in the first semi-final.
The Marauders were put into bat and posted 144-5, 15-year-old Jack Taylor top-scoring with 28 not out. The Wizards, though, won by the start of the 18th with 145-3, with Andrew Aitchison unbeaten on 46.
Berwick Bushwackers then faced the young Tillside Tomahawks.

Tillside on the attack during their victory
The youngsters made a good start to the tournament with 163-7 and 51no from Liam Hindmarsh.
Despite 41 from Brian Simmons, the Bush- wackers were all out for 100 with all the bowlers chipping in.
Tomahawks captain Ronan Atkinson won the toss in the final and had no hesitation in batting first.
However, he saw his side reduced to 59-5 by the Wizards. Opener Iain Sim and Andrew Skeen (29) turned things around with a stand of 98 runs in nine overs until Sim fell.
He smashed 12 fours and one six in a match- winning 98 which saw them reach a competitive 168-8. Aitchison returned a commendable 3-17 – including the only maiden of the day!
The Wizards were never in the game, being hindered by the regular loss of wickets due to good bowling from their younger opponents – especially spinner Jake Birkett (4-31) and Toby Culham (3-25).
The game was all over in the 18th with Wooler 107 all out as the Tomahawks ran out winners.
