Angling: Good bags despite challenging conditions

GOOD bags have been landed at Caistron Lakes despite the challenging conditions.

B King took 11, including two double- figure fish to the net; fishery newcomer Mr Sowerby landed 15 on dry flies.

Floating lines with Buzzers, CdCs and small dries enjoyed the best of the sport at Chatton Lakes this week with Peter Price from Pegswood keeping five and returning eight to the Dunnydeer Lake.

Friday’s late night session proved extremely popular with a second event tomorrow (July 15) up until 10.30pm.

With large numbers of fish feeding just under the surface, good numbers of substantial bags were taken, including Matty Divine from Hadston who caught 12 while Tom Snowden from Cramlington and Stuart Younger of Blyth both took 11.

Peter Brack from Ashington and Phil Bilbrough from Bedlington each caught nine; Rodney Burn from Blyth kept three and returned six; and Ian Richardson from New Hartley kept five and returned four.

Good numbers of trout have been caught at South Linden with G Maddison of Bedlington releasing 10 and four and D Henderson of Ashington releasing five.
