YEAR three and four pupils from Rothbury Primary School made a right racquet at a tennis festival at Rothbury Lawn Tennis Club.

The event was the culmination of hours of in-school training by Rothbury Club coach Phil Barron, who delivered tuition to both the town’s first and middle schools as part of a new initiative between the club and local schools.

Meanwhile, tennis camps for players aged eight and upwards are being held at Rothbury TC on Thursdays August 11, 18 and 25 (10.00-3.00). The cost is £18 per day.

Weekly coaching is also being held at Swarland Sports Club on the same dates, with sessions for mini and junior players (six to 16) between 5.00 and 7.00 and adults from 7.00-8.00.

The cost is £4 for adults and £3 for children.
