NORTHUMBERLAND’S growing reputation as a wedding location will be further promoted at a major event on Tyneside later this month.

Registrars from the county council will attend the UK Wedding Show in Newcastle’s Metro Arena, on January 26 and 27, to showcase Northumberland’s 70 marriage venues to prospective brides and grooms.

Nationally, weddings are on the decline, but Northumberland has seen a 12% rise in the number of people tying the knot over the last year.

The Newcastle Wedding Show is expected to attract more than 7, 000 visitors and will have in excess of 100 exhibitors representing the wedding industry.
