A BEAUTY contest is being held for girls in Northumberland.

Miss Northumberland 2011 has been organised for girls from in and around the county aged from 17 to 24.

ITV presenter Philippa Tomson will be hosting the event.

Fellow station presenter Kenny Toal will be joining her on the judging panel.

The lucky winner will automatically receive a modelling contract as well as entry into the coveted Miss England contest.

Organiser Simon Robertson said: “We are looking for a girl with heart; this is as much about beauty on the inside as outside and we welcome girls of all sizes.”

This is the first year that Miss Northumberland has been organised.
