People urged to support Operation Christmas Child

PEOPLE across Northumberland are being urged to be generous and help orphans and vulnerable children across the world by supporting this year’s Operation Christmas Child.

The campaign, which involves people filling shoeboxes with small Christmas gifts for needy youngsters in countries like Bosnia and Zimbabwe, is celebrating its 20th year.

Thirteen drop-off points have been arranged in Northumberland where people can deliver their shoeboxes from November 2 to 18.

There is a helpline on 0870 0112002 and a website at www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk where people can get gift suggestions and details of drop-off points.
