POLICE are appealing for information after a van was set on fire in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.
It happened at 2:50am on Sunday when vandals smashed the window of the vehicle parked in Beach Terrace and set fire to the inside before making off.
Firefighters dealt with the blaze, which caused heat damaged to two other vehicles parked nearby.
