LOCAL girls teamed up to run their socks off in aid of a cancer charity.

The six-strong team from Newbiggin took on the Cancer Research Race For Life with thousands of other fundraising women. Their efforts saw them raise more than £600 in sponsorship for the worthy cause.

The group was made up of Rachael Avery, Leanne Campbell, Rosie May, Lauren Nelson, Beth Hudson and Becca Sadler. Together they raised £644.50.
