THE funeral of A1 crash victim Michael Parnell will be held next week.

Mr Parnell, 44, died when the Ford 4x4 he was a passenger in flipped onto its roof having careered off the road near the Stannington turn-off near Morpeth.

The funeral of Mr Parnell, who lived in Derby Road, Stanley, County Durham, will be held on May 16 at St Andrew’s Church in Stanley from 12pm.

It will be followed by an interment at Stanley Crematorium.

His loved ones have requested only family flowers, with any donations made to Cancer Research.

Police are currently searching for a second car they believe may have been involved in the crash on May 4.
