FREE food and drink tastings and gift wrapping demonstrations are on offer at a pre-Christmas open evening at the Heighley Gate garden centre near Morpeth on Thursday.

Tickets for the evening, which runs from 6pm to 9pm, cost £1 and proceeds will be split between St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth and the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Visitors can do some late night shopping, see the centre’s festive displays, try some festive punch and free nibbles.
