WALKER Central substitute Adam Dobson came off the bench to fire a spectacular 30-yard drive into the top corner and move the Eastenders up the Premier League table.

There were only 15 minutes left of a tight game against Rutherford when Dobson let fly.

Percy Main won 5-1 at bottom side Stocksfield with Craig Ewart, Jon McIlaney, Jason Ritchie, Malcolm Morien and Tony Abladey all finding the back of the net as they climbed to sixth spot. Phil Murray netted for the Griffins.

The rest of the Premier Division sides were in Kicks Leisure George Dobbins league Cup action and only one suffered an upset, Killingworth ruing missed chances as they crashed out 2-1 at Division One Wallsend Town. Craig Burke and Gary Hall scored for Town with David Borley’s penalty the reply.

Blyth Town’s Lee Barnes equalised Craig Cherry’s opener for Carlisle City with Blyth winning 4-3 on spot-kicks, and Hebburn Reyrolle went through 5-3 on penalties after being given a scare by Division Two’s Northbank.

Alan Pegram and Chris Morris scored for Reyrolle but Cameron Wilson hit a double for the Cumbrians.

Seaton Delaval scored twice in the final minute for a 3-1 win over Forest Hall which boss Mick Jeffels admitted was tough on the Division One side, who led through a Matthew Smith goal. Daniel McGuire levelled and added a second in stoppage time along with Grant Kershaw.

Michael Hogg netted two as Ashington Colliers beat Shankhouse 4-0, Dave McKenzie and James Harmison getting the others and Dean Holmes, Gary Yates, Gary McGarrigal and Lee Johnson scored in Heaton Stannington’s 4-0 win at Wideopen.

Harraby CC beat Hexham 6-0 with doubles from Simon Tucker and Chris Ferrie and further strikes from Marc Shiel and Dan Anderton.

Gav Hattrick hit a treble for Whitley Bay A in their 4-0 win at Newcastle Uni with a Darren Reay penalty completing the haul.
