A BANDSTAND marathon in Hexham is being planned to mark the end of the London Olympic Games.

Local bands, choirs and music groups will take part in the marathon at the bandstand in The Sele on Sunday September 9.

The event is being organised by Superact as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
