THE inquest into the death of sixth-former Emma Newton, who was crushed in her car by a falling tree in May, has been set for Wednesday November 9 in Hexham.
Emma, 18, of Lowgate, near Hexham, a pupil at Queen Elizabeth High School, was killed on May 23 at Corchester Lane, Corbridge, when gales blew down a tree onto her Renault Clio.
A fund in her name and memory set up to aid youngsters like her making their way in the performing arts has since raised more than £50,000.
