CYCLISTS at Hadrian’s Wall will be kept on the right track this bank holiday with emergency repair kits to make sure nothing stops them enjoying the outstanding scenery.
The English Heritage will offer cyclists free ‘refresh and rescue’ kits from three sites along Hadrian’s Wall from Saturday August 27 until Monday August 30. The kits will be available from Chesters, Housesteads and Birdoswald Roman Forts. These will include energy tablets, puncture kits, basic first aid equipment, mini pumps, tyre levers and mini tool kits so every cyclist, from the amateur to the professional can ensure their ride goes smoothly.
All of the English Heritage Hadrian’s Wall sites have cycle racks to store visitor’s bikes a safely whilst they take a break and enjoy the Roman Fort settings.
Jon Hogan, events manager at English Heritage, said: “The August bank holiday is always a busy time for all of our sites, but the Hadrian’s Wall cycle route ensures it’s a popular destination for all visitors. We want everyone to have a fantastic day out and we hope that the refresh and rescue kits will help cyclists make the most of the bank holiday and encourage them to stop by and pay us a visit.”
