THE new youth facility at Haltwhistle masterminded by youth worker Ayesha Banks was officially opened yesterday
The Victorian Water Tower at the town’s railway station has been converted to a ‘chill-out’ centre which will initially be open on Fridays and Saturdays.
Ayesha, 23, who lives in Haltwhistle, sought and raised up to £24,000 from local businesses and the opening was performed by Gary Lydiate, chief executive of the town’s de-icer manufacturers Kilfrost, who made a substantial donation.
