CALLOUS thieves stole computers, a television and other items worth £2,000 after breaking into a care home in Northumberland.
Police yesterday branded the raiders as “cowardly” following the burglary at the Jubilee Lodge care home in Cramond Way, Cramlington.
Between 10pm on Saturday and 6.45am the next morning the raiders smashed through the building’s fire door and gained access to the residents’ communal area. Among the items they stole were two HP laptop computers, a HP desktop computer, a 50-inch Samsung TV, a 50-piece toolkit and a speaker system.
Cramlington Neighbourhood Inspector, Dave Fitzgerald, said: ”I’d urge anyone who knows anything about this burglary, or the whereabouts of the stolen property, to contact us.
“Thanks to these criminals the residents of Jubilee Lodge are suffering and we want to identify those responsible and make them pay for this crime.”
