STUDENTS at a Northumberland school treated residents from the surrounding community to a special afternoon tea.
More than 60 visitors enjoyed sandwiches and cakes as they listened to the school choir and jazz band perform at Bede Academy, in Blyth.
The academy opens its doors to the community on a regular basis to develop links with local people of all ages.
For neighbour Maureen Swan, the afternoon teas are a great opportunity to span the generation gap.
“It is lovely to meet the young people; it’s such a great atmosphere in the school and the students are very impressive indeed,” she said.
Assistant vice principal Christopher Young said the students had done a great job. He said: “Everyone seemed to have a lovely time and the event, which has become an integral part of the community, was an excellent way to celebrate at Bede Academy.”
