A NATIONAL campaign to help carers get all the state support they are entitled to has been backed by Blyth Valley MP Ronnie Campbell.
The Carers UK campaign aims to help those looking after ill or disabled loved ones get access to as much financial support as possible, amid estimates that about £840m a year in carers’ benefits go unclaimed.
Mr Campbell said: “Carers are fulfilling a vital role in our society, but too often they go without the support they need. We all need to play a role in helping to ensure they are accessing all the financial and practical support they can.”
Carers UK has urged carers to get in touch with its helpline on 0808 808 7777 or www.carersuk.org
