BERWICK Rangers' highland horror show ended their interest in this term's Scottish Cup.
Furious Borderers boss Jimmy Crease slammed his failed squad after the four-goal demolition by Banff side Deveronvale, who are lying mid-table in the Highland League.
He said: “This was a shocker and without any doubt the worst result during my time in charge at Berwick.
“We always knew this would be a difficult one against the side who finished runners-up in the league last season and it was always going to be a potential banana skin.
“There are no excuses. They bossed us about and we never got into any rhythm.”
To add to Rangers gloom they had a player sent off for the second time in three games.
Stephen Thomson was shown a straight red card midway through the second half for what Crease described as a crazy challenge on Ross McKenzie.
Crease added: “We must now re-group immediately and aim to bounce straight back when we travel to East Stirling”.
On l8 minutes a Fraser volley was blocked in the box and Leigh Henderson swept the ball back into the target zone, where Kris Duncan opened the hosts account with an overhead kick.
Fraser doubled the tally on the half- hour mark.
Vale notched number three in 65 minutes through Chris Blackhall and Mike McKenzie completed the Berwick humiliation from the penalty spot in 73 minutes after a foul by Steven Notman.
