THE first wedding in 21 years is due at the little church of St Francis at Byrness, north Northumberland, next Saturday, June 11.

And the women of the parish are to mark the occasion with a public flower festival which will be open between 2.30pm and 6pm, then again on Sunday, June 12, from 11am to 6pm.
