WOMEN workers at a Tesco store in Northumberland raised £300 for Cancer Research UK after donning their running shoes.
The 20-strong group from the Bedlington shop completed the three-mile Race for Life event held on July 10 at Newcastle’s Town Moor.
The women joined nearly 7,000 other runners for the day in a bid to raise as much money for the worthy charity as possible.
Kirsty Perry, a general assistant at the Market Place store, said: “It is a fantastic event to take part in. Everyone is there to do their bit and raise money for Cancer Research UK.
“I have close friends and family who have been affected by cancer, so it really does mean a great deal to me to take part.”
