Family and friends to gather for funeral of Stuart Wilson

THE funeral of the man found shot dead in a street will be held next week.

Police were called to Alderwood in Ashington, at about 12.30am on Sunday morning after receiving reports of a man with a gun in the street.

They found the body of 34-year-old Stuart Wilson, who was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics. It is thought he had taken his own life.

Now his devastated parents, Mary and Dennis, from the town, have made funeral arrangements and are asking family and friends to meet at Ashington Parish Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Monday at 12.15pm, followed by a cremation at Cowpen Crematorium at 1.30pm.

An inquest into the death has been opened and adjourned.
