ONLOOKERS in Amble watched with bated breath yesterday as the RAF Boulmer Sea King helicopter and Amble RNLI staged a water rescue demo during Amble Lifeboat Day.
Tensions were high as the crew showcased the pressured situations they regularly face in a bid to boost donations to the station.
There was also a range of stalls including adult and junior tombola, books, bric-a-brac, water or wine, toys and children’s rides.
Adventure-loving visitors enjoyed paintballing, displays by the Sea Cadets and taster canoeing and surfing sessions with Coquet Shorebase Trust and Northside Surf.
