METAL thieves are being hunted by police after targeting a funeral directors and a gardening group in Amble.

A brass plaque was stolen from the undertakers’ premises in Bede Street between 6pm on Monday and 9am the next morning. At the same time, a number of metal fittings were stolen from the Amble Allotments Association building in Percy Drive.
