CYCLISTS are being urged to protect their bikes following a spate of thefts.
Between 11pm on Sunday, July 10, and 9am on Monday, July 11, thieves broke into a shed in the Priory Park area of Amble and stole two bikes. One was a pink BMX and the other a Shogun cross-country aluminium bike.
And at around the same time, a silver Raleigh mountain bike was also taken from the Amble Links caravan park.
Northumbria Police’s Alnwick Neighbourhood Insp Sue Peart said: “Thieves are stealing bikes as they are relatively quick crimes to commit.”
Anyone with any information about the thefts is asked to call police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191.
