JAMES Calvert Spence College in Amble has been given £23,506 towards the cost of a 10kW wind turbine.

The aim of the project is to provide 15% of the college’s energy and help towards their aim of being the first carbon neutral school in Northumberland.

The EDF Energy Green Fund awards up to £30,000 for organisations to generate green energy in their own communities.
