A FORMER headteacher has been appointed as the new harbour master at a Northumberland town.

Paul Allen was the headteacher at Coquet High School in Amble.

He has now been appointed as Warkworth Harbour Commissioners’ new harbour master, and will be based at their Amble office.

Mr Allen replaces Paul Taylor, who has retired after taking the job in 1991.
