Crowds brave the rain for Amble lantern parade

A BAND played as a special parade marked the beginning of festive illuminations in Amble, despite torrential rain.

Christmas lanterns made by local school children were lit up as the procession left the Wellwood Arms pub and headed towards the town’s square.

Music from local band Drumdin marked the occasion, as jovial crowds gathered to revel in the festive atmosphere.
