WE hope you enjoy exploring our wonderful local food and drink landscape with The Journal's Taste North East England interactive directory.

Adapted from a map painstakingly hand-drawn by Andy Hook of  Newcastle's award-winning Blackfriars Restaurant, of his favourite mouthwatering meats and cheeses, superfresh fish, organic vegetables and other abundant, seasonal produce, from across the region, it was originally designed to educate staff and tempt the tastebuds of diners.

Now you can follow Andy's mouthwatering trail - and contribute your own local knowledge to collectively help build the most comprehensive map to date of North East food and drink.

So if you have eaten somewhere good that champions local produce, or discovered an artisan producer who is a real food hero, then we want to know.
