ATTEND the Fairtrade Business Breakfast, in conjunction with EAT! NewcastleGateshead on Friday, May 9, 2008.
The event will be held at the relaxed and stylish As You Like It restaurant in Jesmond, Newcastle from 7.30am at the minimal price of £10 per person.
Become a Fairtrade Organisation…
We will start the morning by serving you Fairtrade tea and coffee at 7.45am aiming to promote Fairtrade products and show how a small change in any organisation can make a HUGE difference.
Fairtrade guarantees a better deal for Third World Producers, therefore by making the change to Fairtrade we really are helping. Many of our local and national organisations such as Greggs, North Eastern Co-operative, Blakes and The Copthorne Hotel use Fairtrade products so why not make the change?
Taste a traditional English breakfast made with North- East produce…
Tempting? Breakfast will be served at 8.10 am and all items will be locally produced and cooked to perfection by As You Like It’s very own talented chef, Brian James. Tasty surprises on platters will be circulating the room, so feel free to delve in and enjoy!
Listen to a man with great vision…
At 8.30am, sit back and listen to our passionate guest speaker; BBC newsreader and former foreign correspondent, George Alagiah, spokesperson for the Fairtrade Foundation.
George, voted Media Personality of the Year, is a specialist on Africa and the developing world, having reported live on various topics such as Sri Lanka after the Tsunami. He cares deeply about issues of famine and poverty and is eager to answer any questions you may have.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to sample Fairtrade products, taste some amazing food and talk to fellow businesses. To reserve your tickets simply download the booking form, complete and send with payment either by credit card or cheque by Monday 28th April 2008.
Cheques should be made payable to ncjMedia Ltd. If you would like any further information about the event, please do not hesitate to contact Jennifer Cook on 0191 204 3310 or jennifer.cook@ncjmedia.co.uk.
