She said: “He was a fantastic bloke. Everyone loved him. We would have been married 19 years this Christmas Eve.
People living at Glamis Hill said they were woken in the early hours by the sound of a loud commotion outside in the quiet street. It is believed that a man had turned up outside the family home and began smashing windows and cars parked outside.
Police were called and Mr Henderson was found by officers lying in a pool of blood amid shattered glass outside the large detached house.
Mr Henderson is believed to have two daughters aged 15 and 18, who are being comforted by relatives.
DCI Steve Binks said: “The investigation is ongoing and I would urge anyone who was in the Glamis Hill on Friday night or the early hours of Saturday morning to contact police.”
