Windmills inquiry

A wind farm scheme in Northumberland will be decided at a public inquiry.

Councillors in Alnwick last night rejected the advice of their own officers and voted to object to plans for an 18-turbine scheme at Middlemoor, near South Charlton.

In doing so they backed 20 parish councils and hundreds of individual objectors to force a public inquiry into the controversial scheme.
