Worries grow over upheaval at Northumberland first school

PARENTS fear an "outstanding" Northumberland first school is at risk of losing its Ofsted grading through months of management "chaos".

Pupils at Corbridge C of E First School have been without a permanent headteacher since December when governors announced that Julie Logan was to be replaced.

The circumstances of her departure have never been revealed to parents and now an un-named non-teacher is to be drafted in four days a week to manage the school.

Parents fear the school’s outstanding rating from Ofsted is in jeopardy following months of “disruption and upheaval”.

A parent who wished not to be named said: “We have no idea who this person is that is coming into the school to manage it.

“Do they even have experience or credentials in education? Even if they’re bringing in a governor to run the school then most of them are housewives who don’t work.

“What do they know about running a school?

“This whole situation should have been resolved months ago and this is embarrassing and damaging its reputation, especially considering it’s been graded so highly by Ofsted.”

Julie Logan was at Corbridge CoE First School for just 15 months when governors informed parents by letter in December she was to be replaced “for the immediate future” by another teacher.
