A HEALTH trust that runs hospitals in Northumberland and on Tyneside has launched a new website for patients.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which manages district hospitals in Hexham, Wansbeck and North Tyneside, as well as services in the community, hopes the new site will contain essential information for patients and their families.
Claire Riley, director of communications at the trust, said: “More and more people use the internet in their day-to-day lives as a source of information. Our new site will really support people to make choices about the fantastic services available to them at Northumbria Healthcare.
“The experience our patients have with us is at the heart of everything we do and the site has the latest feedback on what our patients think of us and how they rate our services, which will give confidence in the care we provide.
“We’ve put a lot of work into making sure that the site provides the information we know our patients and visitors are looking for, and that it is really easy to navigate so they can find that information quickly.”
The sites contains directions around the trusts hospitals plus information about visiting times and what people can bring with them.
There is also information on what patients can expect when they’re staying in hospital and what support is available once they have left hospital.
Patients can also search for a particular health service and get more details about the hospital consultant treating them.
