FLYING can be stressful for some travellers - but a North East airport is hoping their latest technological solution will really take off.
Previously Newcastle International Airport offered just basic information such as flight times through a mobile version of its website. Now, though, they are embracing the fast-growing smartphone crowd by becoming part a new feature-packed app.
Graeme Mason, planning and corporate affairs director at Newcastle Airport, said: “Newcastle Airport is committed to providing its customers with an excellent service and good communication is essential to this.
“The aviation industry is ever changing and we embrace new ways to reach passengers – smartphone apps are an extremely effective way of doing so.
“Our flight times are available on our mobile website as normal, but the StreamThru app adds even more options – text messages alerting travellers to local travel problems, notices of any delays, and information about the airport.
“This is all available on the return journey as well, making everything that much easier.”
