HORRIBLE Histories author Terry Deary lent a hand at a Hadrian’s Wall property yesterday.
The 65-year-old from Burnhope, County Durham, arrived at the midway point of an 80-plus-mile run along the Roman Wall in positive fettle.
Wearside-born Terry is running the length of the Wall from Cumbria to Tyneside to raise an estimated £5,000 for the charity Integrating Children.
Yesterday he visited the Housesteads fork to work on post and rail fencing protecting a bore-hole.
He said: “Integrating Children is a valuable charity which allows disabled children to take part in social activities and I’m pleased to be helping like this.
“80% are excluded and it’s getting worse. Five years ago, the figure was only 75%.
“I hope to raise a minimum £5,000, and anyone who would like to add to the sponsorship can do so by visiting my website, terrysrun.co.uk.”
