A NORTHUMBERLAND man has been given an Anti-Social Behaviour Order to stop him causing trouble in the town of Alnwick.

Peter William Pringle, of Hotspur Place, was given the five-year order at Newcastle Crown Court after he was convicted of affray. As part of the conditions, the 41-year-old must not use or encourage others to use threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in any public place in Alnwick; enter King Street – including Back King Street from The Maltings; approach or communicate with Alan Roper of King Street; or be found outdoors in Alnwick between 10pm-7am.

Pringle has also been sentenced to an 18-month community order and a supervision order for 18 months.

If Pringle breaches the order he could be sent to prison for up to five years.

Acting Inspector Graham Vickers said: “Peter Pringle is a prolific offender and is well known to police and the public in Alnwick. His offending has had a significant impact on the community and I hope that this Anti Social Behaviour Order will prevent him from committing further offences and help protect the community from harm. We will be monitoring Pringle in the future to ensure he complies with the order.

“We will continue to take action against the individuals who cause the most disruption to our communities.”
