Cramlington dad pays tribute to son Christopher Harrington

THE circumstances of why two young men died remained unexplained last night as a father paid tribute to the “loving” and “wonderful” son he lost.
Christopher Harrington, 20, was found dead next to the body of a 19-year-old man in woods yesterday, although the background to what some fear was a suicide pact remained a mystery.
The discovery, in Cramlington, Northumberland, was made earlier in the day by an elderly dog walker, who was understood to have been taken to hospital with shock after stumbling upon the macabre scene.
Paying tribute to his “bright” and “happy” son, who had returned from holiday just two weeks ago, Peter Harrington said there had been no signs of any problems.
The father-of-three said: “He was a smashing lad, at no time did it appear anything was troubling him. He was very bright at school and he had just started looking for a job.
“He’d just come back from holiday two weeks ago. He liked his music, but he wasn’t particularly into sport.
“He’d left his job at McDonald’s and I know he wanted to stay around here. He loved his family.
“He had a girlfriend, and I thought things were going well, he had his whole life ahead of him. He loved life. His family loved him, everybody loved him.
“We’re all distraught. It’s left so many people devastated.”
Chris was known to be a friend of the other man found dead by his side, who is also understood to be from Cramlington.
